"Instant Karma's gonna get you" Perhaps in 2013

Re: Instant Karma at Sony -

Nice, Jet! Screw the haters. "I read this five years ago." No ****, Sherlock. These things move glacially.

Thanks everyone - and you are so right Larry. It doesn't help that the script is an expensive one. I so wish I could upload the screentests we did back at Digital Domain with The Rock (as a fly, roach and racoon), Jessica Alba, Gene Wilder (as a turtle), Dom Delouise and Burt Reynolds (as alligators). Maybe one day.

Congrats to you for hatching what sounds like a fun concept, and kudos to Terry Rossio for hanging in there for a friend.

Paul, congrats! I´ll go see it!

When I read the thread title I thought it´s based on the (at least over here in Germany) bestselling novel "Bad Karma" by David Safier.
From Amazon:
This debut novel follows the trials and tribulations of Kim Karlsen, a television personality whose career obsession brings her some serious cosmic repercussions. In her quest to dominate the airwaves, Kim cheats on her husband, neglects her daughter, and mistreats her staff. It all seems worth it when she wins the biggest German Television Award, but sadly on the very same night she is crushed to death by debris falling from a Russian space station....At the gates of Heaven, Kim is informed that she has collected too much bad karma in her life, and has a long road of atonement ahead. Reincarnation as an ant teaches her a few lessons in humility, ad she experiences life as a guinea pig and as a beagle before regaining human form just in time to sabotage the marriage of her husband to her back-stabbing best friend.

But that novel´s from 2007, and since your project was in the pipeline for 10+ years, that´s just one of those giant coincidents ;)

And the book shows that there´s interest in such a story.

Wow. Yeah - my script has actually been around since 1997 - so if anything these guys took from me. :lol

Paul, this is just great news!
I've been hoping Instant Karma was still a possibility. Congratulations!
I REALLY hope it happens this time for you.
Be sure to post when you guys get the greenlight.

Looks like Terry's gained yet another piece of wisdom out of this:
"NEVER name a project Instant Anything." :lol

Finally!

Good news.

Hopefully this means I will get my Autographed Script you promised me years ago!
