Hi,

It seems I can get my hands on an original MI kit. Something I never have seen xept for the crap recasts on ePlay. You can also find pictures of the box artwork there, Frontier models also sells the kit.

Now the one that's offered to me has a slighty different box. It also has a shot with flames? And some kind of official Cameron stamp of approval? AND it comes without lighting but with red transparent domes.

Sorry no pics. The seller has none. Mainly the reason for requesting info. I have never seen the original kit offered before. This one does have a mean pricetag of aroud 225$.

Could it be that there was a T2 release for the MI as well?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Yes, That's the box artwork, I got one when they first came out. The price sounds about rigit. If memory is correct, I got mine at MiM for $275. and yes, it does not have a lighting kit. If I have a chance, I'll take some photos of the box. I wanted to get another kit, and I got one of those knock-offs and the size is off scale. Plus, to boot, the eye area was missing. I still have it but don't really know what to do with it.

Good luck on the kit.

I have one.

Also from MiM for about $275 (years ago). Flame overlay photo with Cameron's testimonial. Very ice kit; far and away better than the knock offs. Metal jaw pistons, metal eye bearing clips. Had mine chrome plated by the guys who did the work on the film.

It IS smaller by about 10% than the ArtFX/XFX head.

This is fact, by the way, not conjecture. I've had both sitting right next to each other on my mantle...

Many thanks. I'd love to see pics. So MiM sold those official kits way back?

I don't know what the ArtFX version is? Is that what was used in the movie?

It's really hard to find good info on skull kits. The Greyzon I have is the MKI with Leno chin. Not really accurate but very nice for the collection.

So the pic I posted is for the first movie kit? It says it's modelled what would suggest it wasn't a cast from the movie one.

10% is pretty big shrinkage. I have a Arnie face that's also on the small size. But that doesn't matter. I'll put it up on the wall anyway.

Glad to know the price is good. It is after all a pretty rare item. Haven't seen a single one passing by on eBay.

Wow, that's great. Thanks very much for the pic.

The kit is reserved for me, I'm waiting for a final quotation.

Well, found a pic in my archive. Strange thing is that this seems to have a lighting kit... Is this it? Or is that just the metal and plastic lenses and such in the bag?

No lighting kit in that one... Though pretty darn well set up to accommodate lighting (I did.).

Metal bearings and clips around the eyes, metal jaw pistons. Upper skull is all one piece (opposed to the knock-offs that separate the face). Jaw is more accurately positioned than on the ArtFX head. Separate and well-detailed ear pieces. Positionable eyeballs (so you can kant them gazing upward as on the real heads).

Nice kit...

Looking great.

Many thanks for the info and trouble guys.

I considered jumboleds myself. I don't know how the lenses are for this kit, but the ones on the Sideshows I really don't like. The effect in the first movie is what I'm after.
