The other day I was reading an older thread that had been bumped by someone, and noticed that it had a couple of posts from a banned member in it. Now, I knew who this member was (and his history), but someone new to the forum might not.
It got me to thinking that it might be a good idea to have the reason for banning explained "in the post" as it were, as opposed to a thread that may or may not get read. All the info that would need to be "posted" would be the same as given in the staff's "banned member" announcement thread, and could easily be done by inserting it into the member's sigline area. "member XXX has been banned for YYY"
As I see it, this would only need to be done with recasters, crooks and similar ilk, so new members would have a better idea of some of the histery here at the RPF.
