This is a 1/4 scale idol... came with the terrific Jeff Camp bust, which will be finished shortly. This is a paint test for my full 1:1 Magnoli idol... base coated in gloss black, finished in Krylon gold. I also bought and tested Krylon 18kt gold plate, Rust-oleum metallic gold, and Dupli-color gold. I looked for, but couldn't find plasti-cote. I thought that on the test strips I did, the Krylon was the most brilliant and reflective.

Looks good, do you like it?

I've heard different theories on the screen-used idols finish. Everything from plated to simply spray painted.

Looks pretty good. I found some great gold paint at "Michaels" craft store. If you have one near, the paint is in a Black/Gold can and it reads 24kt gold paint. It is extremely reflective.

It looks good, but I have personally never seen an idol look right that wasn't electroplated.

I think this will do for 1/4 scale, though. :thumbsup
