Re: Indiana Jones - Prop Store Collection Idol

It's amazing how accurate you got yours!! If you hadn't told me, I would've thought yours WAS the real idol!!! WOW!

Just so everyone can see the actual "Prop Store Idol", here are the pics:

Thanks again everyone and Jedifyfe mate, it was extraordinarily kind of you to post the original pics along with my idol. I hadn't seen them put side by side like that so, this was as informative to me as it (hopefully) is to others..
Cheers mate!

I had intended to put a rough tutorial on-line last evening but some unforeseen problems occurred last night which conspired against me getting it done. I will be away until Tuesday next week and will endeavour to get it posted when I return..

Hi Ron --

Cheers mate.. I was given the Idol by a mate of mine who had it lying around. I'm a total novice when it comes to Idols but I was keen to get one with a mouth similar to that of the original and the one I was given looked really good.

I can't say for sure because mine seems to have been passed on numerous times and thus its lost its original pedigree, but to my inexperienced eye it looks like its a Gobler.

That is amazing and I too prefer that finish over the gold movie version. Looking forward to the tutorial.

Re: Indiana Jones - Prop Store Collection Idol

I absolutely love that. I love the idea of a replica that looks like an old prop.... very original. You've done that brilliantly :)

well done sir!!

Re: Indiana Jones - Prop Store Collection Idol

Amazing work KramStaar :eek Great job....Congrats :love

Re: Indiana Jones - Prop Store Collection Idol

I may have to try this with my Gobler plated idol that has a few small bubbles in it...hmmmm

Re: Indiana Jones - Prop Store Collection Idol

Yeah good idea. I was really sad to part with my Gobler when the same thing happened Fyfe. I think it took 5 months before it started bubbling though. I was devestated lol So I sold it on....

Maybe one day I'll get another one.

I do know this...when Kramstaar does his tutorial for us it will be excellent!!!

Thanks so much for the tutorial KS, very well written and informative. I still marvel at your pics and how dead on it really looks. Amazing. Gotta agree with Taz Vader that I will be keeping my eye on your future projects.

I have no skill at all and I thank you for the great tutorial. I think I may have a shot as well.
