Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

You know, this strangely reminds me of a Stargate episode (321) with the same name...

An ark that fries Nazis with floaty demon ghosts... a voodoo mind control cult that steals little kids... an immortal knight who guards a chalice which magically restores your health and gives you immortality... all that's okay. But an alien crystal skull? THAT weirds you out? Huh... well it's always fun to know where the line is.

For the people who don't like it, it has nothing to do with a "weirdness line."

It has to do with the fact of the items' themes. Three are themed to actual human religious mythology and one is themed to 1950s sci-fi B-movies.

possible spoilerish stuff below...
highlight it

the latest promo image shows indy in a warehouse...i seem to recall a warehouse with a lot of boxes before...coincidence???? Some speculate the ark may be making a return...maybe to combat these crystal beings ;)

Well, it's not the crystal skull, it's the damned aliens.

All that other stuff is more in line with Indy's whole inspiration...
adventurer serials of the 1930's.

Now were talking little green men???

Just a different genre, just doesn't fit to me. I dont care if it's the 1950's when flying saucers were all the pop rage.
It just seems an inappropriate fit.

Will Bruce the shark appear too? LOL

Or is Indy just jumping the shark?

Quoted for truth!

Why they didn't use just the mayan/aztec/whatever myth, instead of this "alien" thing?
There are mayan legends way more interesting than those damn aliens...:sleep

I originally heard about 6 months ago that this movie was gonna be about
the lost city of Atlantis.. Has anyone heard this?? I haven't been following
any news about it..

If I recall...this take place in South America?

The Inca used to strap boards to children's heads to elongate the skull. Very alien looking. This picture does not worry me much.

Hoping that is all it is.
And maybe the "aliens" are really just people afterall.

:lol:lol:lol:lolI thought that was the premise for Pirates of the Caribbean 4:lol:lol:lol:lol

Actually the Ark does make a return. The skull looks alien but it is probably some sort of diety made by some ancient tribal people that saw the actual aliens land on earth! This is their god!:unsure

Some of the publicity shots are at "area 51". More over, the Variety article specifically said they would be dealing with the 50's pop UFO culture theme. So as much as those Indy fan want to keep with the earlier original themes, its going to the space age on this one. To infinity and beyond I guess.

Have a feeling there are going to be a lot of "broken heart Woody's" out there after seeing this one. :lol

Well, tripoli, Lucas and Co. have already been underselling the hell out of the movie as it is, so I think there'll be a lot of disappointed people out there.

I hope they don't screw it up, because this is (and always will be) the only IJ movie I'll ever see on the big screen... I was too young for the other 3 (I was born in 1981, so...) and I hope the movie will be good, or they will ruin my ONLY "theatrical" Indiana Jones movie experience... Making me very un-happy...
NO TV AND NO BEER MAKE HOMER GO CRAZY...
