Indian in the cupboard figurines?

The movie 'Indian in the Cupboard' holds a special place in my heart. As a child, I was captivated by the film, and my grandfather surprised me with a cupboard that resembled the one from the film. Unfortunately, this cherished item was lost during a move to my current apartment.

Now, I am determined to recreate the cupboard, complete with the figurines from the movie. This project is not only a nod to the nostalgia of the film but also a way to honor my grandfather's thoughtful gift. While replicas of the figurines have been made in the past, they are not accurate to the ones from the film.

I am seeking skilled 3D model makers who may be interested in bringing this project to life. Finding accurate reference photos has proven to be a challenge, as most available images are simply screenshots from the movie. However, I am committed to continuing my search for the perfect inspiration.

<LINK>Indian in the cupboard key

I'll help you out with a free key STL file.
Scroll down to the bottom.

You can print this, or print this in metal from Shapeways.
If you choose "gold steel", it's about $20 plus shipping.

***UPDATE***

Shapeways in now defunct. But the key file is available for person use here :

I'm not sure about the accuracy of this Indian figure, but here is the knight figure made for the film, next to a replica Indian figure someone bought for me, which was made in conjunction with the film and included a copy of the cupboard key. I played the knight in the film, so they gave me a copy of "me".

After filming my bit (all 3 seconds of screen time) the on set photographer was nice enough to get a shot of Frank Oz and myself.

The Indian figure from that picture is available from eBay. Type something similar to "Indian in the cupboard figure".

It's such an honor to have you reply to my post, thats really cool they gave you that, I'm not a fan of those figurines theyre inaccurate. I was wondering if you could possibly have any contact info for the original prop maker? I know the movie is nearly 30 years old but I just thought I'd ask.

Hi guys! Huge fan here so I’m loving this thread:) does anyone know if there’s been anyone on the RPF or elsewhere that’s made, or wanted to make, a replica of the cupboard?? I always thought it was such a beautiful design

The others can probably be found easily Remember when he decides to try something after bringing Little Bear to life?: A Jurassic Park T-Rex, a Darth Vader, Robocop, G.I. Joe, Cardassian and Ferengi lol

Been looking over things here and wanted to post a few images.
Last year I was able to finally score all four figures released as well as the key as a part of the VHS marketing. They are a little off, especially the Indian but the cowboy isn’t far off.

I have a T-Rex that is close, but not a vintage toy, it’s modern. Of course the RoboCop, Vader, and Ferengi shouldn’t be hard to find. I have located the LEGO set, 6852. I added a photo of the old Chief.
