Independence Day: Resurgence

Re: Independence Day 2

While we are complaining about things not being realistic in the movie weapon wise... The Mothership wouldn't of needed a giant death ray. The downward thrust to keep that thing airborne would of just flattened anything it hovered over. The White house would of been gone long before the super laser charged up.

Re: Independence Day 2

The alien ships work on antigravity, presumably. The captured fighter hovered quite well at Area 51 without disturbing the surroundings.

Re: Independence Day 2

Well that depends. The F-15 can supposedly go supersonic vertically so it's not totally unfeasible. It just depends on the thrust to weight ratio of a F/A-18.

The F-15 can accelerate in a vertical climb but it can't, as far as I know, go supersonic. To the best of my knowledge the 15 is one of the few planes capable of that feat and I've never heard of the 18 being able to do that.

It's rumored to have that ability. The thrust to weight ratio seems like it would work, but since we don't know the actual speed, only publicized, it can't be verified.

Anyone else think that even if the creator/director doesn't want Will Smith that the studio might step in and say "You're going to use Will Smith!" Despite the performance of the new movie he did, in general he's a big drawl at the box office.

ID4-2: Memorial Day

I almost spit my tea all over my monitor. :lol

Breaking news..from yesterday:

Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman Returning for Independence Day 2. The casting Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman in The Independence Day 2 (2015) answers the question of whether or not the two actors would return for the Roland Emmerich directed sequel film. Will Smith will not return for the Independence Day sequel, though he might make a cameo.

Wait till you see the third one.
It's a romantic comedy where Goldblum falls in love with one of the aliens and they have a kid.
ID4-3: Labor Day

Seriously though, I would like to see Adam Balwin back. And I wonder what the actress who played the presidents daughter is up to now.

Re: Independence Day 2

:lol Man I am embarrased for Jeff and Bill! :lol

Why? This is a no-lose situation for them. If the film does well, awesome. It boosts their value. If the film tanks, it doesn't matter because it's not like anyone's gonna judge them by it. Everyone will know that this is just a cash-in film for them.

Think of it this way. Dennis Quaid could do G.I. Joe and it didn't have any impact one way or the other on his career. Bad film, good film, success, failure, doesn't matter. He delivers his lines and cashes his check.

In the end, if some studio exec is dumb enough to greenlight this and wants those guys back, why not take his money?

Yummmmmmmmm...Adam Balwin. :lol

He did play an excellent part and I love his work in other films.

I wonder if this is going to be linear, meaning the story set 20'ish years later. It's gonna take a LOT of spackle to make Pullman look like he is in his late 50s again.

(yes I know he's only 59 but have you seen him lately? Yikes! :lol)

Re: Independence Day 2

He was a soldier working at Area 51 with Data.

Blasphemer! :lol Early this month I had a chat with BRENT SPINER and he said he always gets annoyed when people call him Data. True, it's arguably his most famous acting gig, but give the guy some credit. :D

Re: Independence Day 2

Hey I am all for making a buck but for this, a sequel for a Movie what 20 years ago?

I still have standards no matter how low they are! :lol

Bill and Jeff do not need the money from what I understand, guess they are bored
