IM foam helmet question...

Its been a while since I've posted any progress , but now that the move is over and we are getting settled I have some time to get back into my iron man build. I have a question I am doing the helmet in 1/4" foam and I'm having some issues with keeping it in its proper form when the face plate is off. Also the face plate doesn't keep shape when removed. I have used my heat gun on it, but only lightly. Here are some pictures to see how it looks with the face plate on. I seem to have an issue with the chin tucking under the face plate too!
