I'm a Bro and I Sew... Who else is with me?

I intend to once again be a bro who can sew in the next few weeks! After taking a few years off of prop building and costume making, I have decided to once again break out my Singer and make a costume for my 7yo daughter. She's been using her new bow & arrow everyday since she got them, and very much wants to be Merida for Halloween. How can I turn her down? :)

Feel free to join the FB group. Membership will be for adult men who are dedicated to improving the Craft of costuming as well as the lost art of being a gentleman in society. Specific membership requirements will be forthcoming.

I suppose I've sewn a few things over the years:

And, most recently, my Star Trek pants and holster/belt:

My grandmother was a seamstress in New York's garment district for many years. When I was young she taught me how to use a sewing machine. I did not use the skill too much until I started making costumes. The first thing I did was make about 10 Star Trek TOS costumes for a office Halloween party. Later I made a full Jedi outfit and most recently I mad some parts for my '66 Batman costume and all the pieces for my son's '66 Robin costume. After seeing me make the Robin costume my wife had me make new pillows for our outdoor furniture. I guess it can't be all cosplay.

I'm in for one, too if they get made. I didn't realize this until just now, but somehow in the last year or two saying "I'm a member of the RPF" has changed it's meaning to "I dress up as Iron Man".

Yeah... Now if only someone in charge would listen to the pleas of the sick of looking digging through Iron Man threads... C'mon admins!
Of course since we quit limiting joining, we seem to have an overabundance of people that don't read the rules and will post their Iron Man in whatever thread they click on first... /facepalm

The link doesnt seem to be working =/

Yeah. It isn't going anywhere for me either.

Well Im new to the "sewing scene." Took a sewing class a month ago and got a machine last week. Ready to get to some sewing now.

I don't think I posted these before, but here are the Iron Man hot pads I made for last years secret santa:

I sew but I'm no expert tailor. However, I did just finish this today and it makes me smile just knowing that I have this tie in my closet (and that this is another step forward in owning a collection of the costume).

huh....I'm a bro that can sew... well learning to sew. I am currently in my half way mark of a Fashion Design degree, with a focus in circus costume design. Being one of 3 men in the program can be tough :devil but there is nothing better than creating a crowed pleaser.

I sent a request to the FB group
