ILM 1976-78 home movies

Stay til the end for the unbelievable reveal:

John Dykstra is Dennis Muren's father. :sleep

This is like the Making of Star Wars book come to life! Amazing footage--thanks so much for posting it! Do these guys look like Academy Award winners? :lol

There is something to be said about the physical process of making props and effects vs sitting behind a computer all day.

I thought it was neat to see the otherside of the screening room. I've really only seen one or two shots of it.

I felt like I was 13 years old again. That was just unbelievably awesome.:thumbsup

Fun, fun stuff! Thanks for posting that link. Refreshing to see how the blood and sweat that went into SW also knew how to cut loose like a bunch of school children. :)

GREAT clip mate. Its impossible to think we have all got so old since the mid 70's and it was fabulous to see some very young looking friends...

Cheers for sharing!

That is so cool, thanks for sharing it!

The slip & slide was an escape slide from an airliner, bought from a surplus store across the street. Good times :)

This took me on the way back machine. I remember watching the Oscars and Star Wars BLOWING things out of the water and what fun it was seeing it on the bigscreen so long ago.
First time I heard of this movie was from my Aunt who owned a deli in San Francisco and hearing her tell me of these guys making a space movie I'd enjoy when it came out. The guys who did the Hologram used to visit her deli and tell her Eddie Fishers daughter was in it and it was going to be like unlike anything we had ever seen. I think in the bay area almost everyone had a beard then.
Thanks for sharing such a fun video and this would be really cool to be added to the uber special collectors DVD set. I love these old behind the scenes stuff from back then and would love to see more stuff like this. This group of VERY talented people remind us how fun it is to make a movie. (y)thumbsup(y)thumbsup:thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

Can't speak for the DVD but Ms. Bonnie has gone and posted it on the Star Wars blog:
