IG-88 pep file - free download

It was a quick sculpt and unfold, so not incredibly accurate, but should do for a background item in that full size Cantina I know you're all dreaming of building...

I've left out the small raised details and holes, on the basis that these are easy enough to drill out or add with styrene or cardboard later on.

I'm hoping to get one finished in the next ... well, I'll just say that I'm hoping to get it finished sometime!

Re: IG-88 pep file - not uber accurate but it's free!

Well, we've been busy here Down Under, getting ready for a troop. IG-88 is going to be making an appearance - or at least his head will be, acting as a power droid. Planning on having a couple of bike lights inside with a swag of wires disappearing into the wall behind. http://www.therpf.com/f79/star-wars-themed-photo-backdrop-set-piece-build-189769/

I'm really pleased at how the overall shape has turned out. The only downside is that fibreglassing the inside is quite a hassle - unless you've got two elbows in each arm - so I'm considering re-doing the pep file as a two-part build which bolts together about the 'equator'.

Just updated the thread title.

No, it's an easy build, but I was just in a hurry to get the inside fibreglassed, so I did the whole thing in one go. If I'd had more time I'd have rondo'ed it thoroughly, let it harden a bit, then glassed the inside top and waited until that was hard before doing the exhaust end. Give it a go!

Thank you SO MUCH for posting/offering these files! The original designers used 4 of these in the front of the Millennium Falcon quad laser where the barrels were mounted! These are awesome and sure beat the near thousands of dollars for originals!

THANK YOU THANK YOU!

SofaKing - you are most welcome!

We had a troop here today with IG-88's head making an appearance on the ground against the backdrop - and someone even recognised him! He looked good, too, not bad for a prop replica that cost about $5!
