Don't know if its the render but I think its just a bar across, not a block? I also think the piece in the middle has a cylindrical look to it.

Looking at what you've done there I'm now thinking the bit with the bar and possibly a bit more around it is from some kind of hinge assembly.

I know this is an old offer, but I would love a few measurements. What is the overall diameter
at the largest part of the head without greeblies? I've seen a real flame tube the other day and now think
me head is too small.

I would recommend using a contour gauge to get the curves right from the original tube......

Bit of an old thread, but I'm working on IG-88 now, so it's all new again. LOL
