Idol by Relicmaker

I rarely post but should,if only to recognize the works of others. A few months back I was able to snag one of Relicmakers ’imperfect’ hero idols. I finally put the eyes in last night. It was a huge PITA but worth the struggle. I love this prop. I remember the day my dad took me to see Raiders and it’s a great memory that I hold dear. Now the question is,do I get a pedestal and weather it up?

So in love with mine even though she's pretty dinged up. Relicmaker did a beautiful job.

I've only slightly weathered it with burnt umber oil paint inside the mouth and between the legs and also in the lines in the hair at the back of the head and it really makes it pop and tone down the shine a bit.
I still want to weather it further with a light misting of mat vanish later.

I know the green eyes aren't canon but i wanted something that reflected the green of the forest, think it might be too green though, so might change them later for ones that are more a jade color.
the left eye's a bit wonky, just held in with blue-tack for the moment. If i remember correctly Relicmakers eyes were 24mm, i went with 22mm which requires a bit more work with a small hand file getting them to seat nicely behind the lids.

As for bases there's this one that's been posted before, a replica of the movie base

Or as an alternative I quite like this one. Again not canon, or even from the same culture, Chachapoyan, but i like the dramatic detail work
