I came across this auction and hoping someone else may know better then me ,but they are listing a actual screen used stargate mask ,which clearily resembles ,the distortions collectors mask i had owned years ago. It was a big beautiful expensive piece. but when they painted it ,the paints they used in time caused a chemical reaction turning this expensive piece into mush.I dont think what there selling is real but a repo goapebilly

Hmmm, the auction is being held by Premiere Props. Ive sold stuff through them before, but there are alot of horror stories about them. Just do a search and youll find it.

thanks im hoping so, actually emailed a guy from here a while back who had the masks ,hoping he sees this and can answer for sure. But my money is on that its fake! goapebilly

I'm just making assumptions, but would the production team really have used latex to make a large item such as this???? It also looks like it is missing the 'ears'
I'm certainly leaning towards this being the Distortions mask

There should be one on the archive of screenused.com and it appears to be foam latex and not the floppy latex as shown in the pic. Also the 'tassles' appear to be crappy cast ones as opposed to the proper fabric/resin or foam of the originals. A badly taken care of distortions mask.

I say Distortions. It isn't badly taken care of. These masks were notorious for having bad glue used, that would break the latex down. Shame cause the 3 Stargate masks were so cool.

I only can vouch for my experience with Premiere Props and have to say that nothing that I have won before seemed to be fake, but, just my two cents.
