The movie was well known for introducing the light-up badge for Chicago cops. Here is a "retro" version of Spooner's detective badge. Note the hallmarks.

No, just a CPD star that I requisitioned with Spooner's badge number. The CPD hallmark is stamped in whereas the lower panel has the numbers laser etched on a raised panel. I don't have a closeup lens, hence the grainy photo.

As a badge collector...and knowing a few Chitown coppers...we are all in agreement. The new badge sucks... Profit was sold out for tradition.
