I Need Your Opinion On This. CT Armor.

I am trying to put together an Obi-Wan Kenobi clone trooper armor version and I want to know If this statue is the best reference I can have, despite the CGI stuff going around:

I took them last year in Brazil. What do you think guys? I am talking about the little details. Have been looking here and there and most of the armors I saw, are missing some details. Any feedback will be welcome.

I'd say that statue seems a little small and soft in details to use as reference for a costume.
Nice to catch you here. I was talking to use as reference to compare IF I have to buy an armor. So far only one I saw has the details I was talking about. Those details are in the statue and the CGI version, but missing in some other armors. You know what I mean:rolleyes

Yeah I get what you mean. Honestly I don't know if there are any armor out there that is 100% perfect. But there are very good ones.

Even still, that statue seems small and the details fuzzy and round to use as a comparison.

It seems to me that this one was the only one made for the film before ILM created the CGI version. What do you think? Never saw another sculp like this. If you check the photos, you will see that most of the little details are clear. Two chest slots, the shape of the shoes, the way the back plate it should be done, the compad, the shape of the adomen part and details, etc.

Never seen it before. I wasn't aware the clones existed as anything but CG files.

Whatever the issue, you should go sign up over at clonetroopers.net. There's really more of a wealth of clone information over there than here.

Not big deal, I already did it and It seems they did not know about this sculpt or they are ignoring my inquiry.:rolleyes I thought this sculpt was already displayed sometime in USA. It seems we were the first ones, I mean Brazil, Chile and now Argentina. Maybe Asia? Who knows.

Just because it comes from the Archives doesn't mean it was made first. It could just be some sculpt they had in the archives. I'd go off the referece from the movies and the Cg files over that. That's all I'm saying.

They might be ignoring it because the sculpt doesn't look like anything to get excited about. There's plenty of research done on the clone armor on CT.net based off the CG files and screengrabs. That sculpt doesn't look like it would give any new and great insight or anything.

Is your plan to buy clone armor and then modify it to be more accurate or something?

Yeah, I guess my opinion that it seems too small and too rounded in the details to be valid reference. Just because it was presented as coming from the Archives doesn't really neccessarily mean much.

I recently abandoned plans of doing this costume in lieu of the newer version from the new series. Sadly this leaves me with a complete set of OSCS armor in my storage shed (Well, nearly complete. I'm using the shins as my stand in until I build my permanent set). Here's the model I was going by for mine before I changed direction.

i used the same model to do my general costume but added the symbols on the emeblems on the chest my robe should be done very soon pic's to come when it arrives :love

The statue is one ILM made in the concept phase to base the CG trooper off. It used to be holding a rifle that I believe was kitbashed from a 12" figure. I guess between Boston and Brazil it got lost. :(

Sorry I didnt see this before.

Yes, that statue is indeed from LFL. Its their maquette sculpt. I got to see this in person about 3 years at COSI, in Ohio when the tour hit the science museum up there. Its just a reference, nothing to base your costume on. Theres a ton of other resources out there besides that, why did you pic that?

Oh, because as you said was another reference, and I was trying to validate it. The other sources you are talking about are CGI screen captures and models?
