I got to meet Kersh a few years ago - I had lunch with him and his son when they came through town for a convention - we just sat around and talked movies for an hour or two - it was a great day... He will be missed....

Damn...apart from ESB (of course)....I remember watching "The Eyes Of Laura Mars" with my Mom. Man, that movie freaked me out when I was a kid.

So sad to read this. I don't think TESB would have been the legendary movie it was, if Lucas had directed it instead of Irvin Kershner - he was someone who wasn't a 'yes man' around Lucas, and I reckon that's no bad thing.
