I have an idea... but lack the skill

Hi... I hope i'm posting this in the right forum, but anyhow:

I searched around and haven't found any models of Jayne's Statue yet (from Firefly Episode 7: Jaynestown). I had the idea the other day that a miniature statue would look great with a pistol replica along with the money pack or something. I've never modeled before, and I would probably be horrible at it, so I throw up this idea in hopes that some crazy firefly fan would make the dream come true. Bring us the Hero of Canton.

What do you guys think?

A lot depends on what size you want the finished statue to be? I know that getting a 28mm gaming size figure sculpted can run into hundreds of dollars. I think your best hope would be a member who can sculpt doing it as a labour of love casting it up and selling them on.

But a damn good idea though :thumbsup , I have to admit it would look cool on the shelf with the rest of my Firefly/Serenity gear.

Love the idea. And it can be done. I'm still working on some stuff... and trying to work out how to mold properly... but if I get the chance I could give it a go... but no promises though... and have to finish my other stuff first.

I usually work in 1:6 scale.

I've seen your Mal sculpt, NHM and it's great stuff.

I bet you'd make a killer Jayne statue.

As far as size goes... I'm not sure.. just tossing around an idea. I'd be happy to own any size--it'd be enough to let me feel what going mad is like.

It's surprising that 28mm figure can be a few hundred dollars. I had no idea.

There's a lot of skill that goes into sculpting these small figures...

Though... just to get this going: can anyone post as many screen captures of this statue as possible, as my computer is unfortunately locked on a different region code (curse that bloody dvd-drive thinking it has the right to decide I can only use one region... wanna rip it open and spit into it... surely that'll help :lol )

I think that if someone decides to tackle this, I would be interested in a run.

But if not, I would be interested in commissioning a custom one of a kind statue of Jayne.

If I ever get to doing this I don't think I would be able to produce it for a run... so maybe someone else who has the means and knowhow to get kits made should try to do this one... 'cause getting stuff molded doesn't seem to be my strong point...
