    EDIT:
A template is available. if you want it, just drop me an email!
Many thx to starbuc for the help!

I started working on it yesterday. IT's going to be a "working" version. Does anyone know if there's a sound chip with the "chrip" available?

I just watched a couple of episodes...
This nice item could be scratch build quite easily.
Does some have templates, pic or other info for me?

    thx,
    Isaac

I was just thinking about this the other day. It would probably be fairly easy to do with aluminum sheet and a Dremel.

    My thought exactly...

Maybe someone with an accurate (or even screen used piece) can put it on a scanner for us... PLEASE!!!

WOW, thank you! This helps a lot!
Could you give us some dimensions?
    Are the edges beveled?

    Thx a bunch,
    Isaac

BTW: What does "working" mean in this case?

IIRC you press the button he has his finger on and the LED at the top comes on.

    Isaac,
Yeah, like Sidewinder said, just push the lower right button, and the red led lights up. I tried to contact C-N-C with it, but unfortunately, no voice transmission capabilities. [IMG]

    LOL!

Don't you know you can't reach them when they're in hyperspace?

Aynway, I did some scaling on the pic to make templates.
I found the size to be 1.5x1.5. Does this seem correct?

i have two differnt types in resin.
one like you showed and a more square narrow one.
were both used and is the back on the one above flat or curved to fit the back of your hand better.

Here are some measurments on the hero link. The bottom measurement is 1 1/4 inches, the picture is a bit dark at the bottom so you may not be able to see it. The small triangles are 5/16" along the top and by 4/16" along the side and the buttons on the bottom of the link are 5/16" along the top by 4/16" along the bottom by 3/16" along the side. The edges of the like are beveled.
Hope this helps. Make sure you guys making one show them off when you get them done. [IMG]

    Terry, thank you so much!

'course, there will be a show off...

One question: Do you think it is unintentional that the triangluar buttons are assymmetrical?

    Isaac,
Not sure about the triangles. I can check with the guy who made them and see what he says.

    Guys,
I drew a template from the pics and measurements kindly provided by starbuc. If you want it, shoot me an email!

Cruiser, why does yours look different?

I have no idea why it is weird. I bought it some years ago, when I thought that it looked really cool, but now I've seen starbuc's, it seems a little 'bad.'

    Please help me identify it.

PS: Could you email me those templates? You know my address...

    Those are great templates Issac.

I look forward to getting started on this. I'm going to use styrene, because it is readily available to me, but if someone makes an aluminium one, please lemme know.

The one that I have? I don't think that it was ever used. It sounds like a good idea that the Psi Cops used them, but I think that they used the same one as the crew. After all, they both came from earth.

    Reaper,
Cruiser is right, the "square" link that is in your picture on the right was never used on the show. It is a fan made version, sorry, I don't know who made it, but it is clearly a fan made version, made before there was any good reference shots of the link. Like the fan made versions of the PPG that are still out there floating around, the first versions are not accurate due to the lack of reference material available when they were made.
Also, for the record, all agencies from Earth, including the Psi-corp used the same style links, until Crusade. At that point both the standard links worn on the back of the hand, and the wrist links were worn.

It's not hard to make a circuit that makes a chirp, no special chip needed.
