So I just got my first Batman cowl yesterday, it's made of urethane. I'm just wondering if there's anything specific I need to do to care for it while it's not in use?

keep it away from light, heat and moisture..
store it on a stand that fills it out or add foam or bubblewrap to the stand so there are no dents.
some people go as far as sprinkling some baby powder on the inside and outside to keep it dry.
if you do all of the above it should last you a very long time.
