How much are United Cutlery LOTR swords worth these days?

I have three swords which I'm thinking of getting rid of, Narsil, Glamdring and the Witchking. I've had them years, so they're the original ones, not the museum replicas or anything, no scabbards. They're in mint condition, still have the wall mounts, what can I expect to get for them, any ideas? Are they even in demand?

do they have COAs and boxes? If so, I'd say they're worth about $200 a piece, as far as ebay goes. However, rumor has it that these swords will be going back into production sometime next year, which will greatly reduce they're overall value. When they were still being made, MIB ones could be bought for $100 or less...

I believe the United Cutlery name was bought by Kit Rea - and they will be being produced exactly as they were previously, along with the ones they never got to...

Someone on the JY just did a run of New old stock on these and theywere all around $90-$100 as I recall, new in box.
I have also heard they are coming back.
So, either sell them now before the market is flooded with them or keep them forever and enjoy them! They are beautiful swords.

Narsil and Glamdring will be the ones that will fetch more. But if you really can't stand the sight of them anymore, I guess I could take 'em off your hands, you know, to keep them out of the dumpster :)

Seriously though, on the few sword forums I frequent, the witchking swords don't go for that much. But for some reason, Glamdring is in really high demand.

Jayne, any idea on how much Narsil would fetch? I got one here, import taxes and all, for about 320 dollars (but the import taxes here in Brasil are killer, I tell you that, 60% in the least).

Hermes!

First off can i just say hello as i'm new here.

I've also been wondering about this as i've had an anduril for about 2 years and i'm debating whether to sell it as its only been out of its box a couple of times.

if its a question of when you're gonna get the most for them then now us the time to sell - otherwise just keep them and enjoy them, at least until they're readily available again...

i would think that these older ones would be more valueable than the ones they are starting about making again?

If production values are the same, then there's no difference. Unless they're numbered versions, you shouldn't be able to tell original run from new run swords.

Simple economics - supply and demand. Supply has dried up, demand remains constant or has increased, price goes up. Supply rises, demand has remained constant, prices go down. either sell now before the supply increases or keep'em and enjoy.

I look forward to new runs as I may now actually may be able to get the one or two I really wanted.

I just want a chance to get the Shards of Narsil. Don't care about the box or if it's a new or old version. If new ones are going to be made please let me know where to get them when they start.

shards of narsil probably will not be available again as it was one of the few numbered ones they did...

Bud-k owns UC now. Bud-K/New UC is pulling out the old tooling for the main swords and producing them again. You will be seeing a few new pieces 2-4 items that were close to being produced at the end of the original UC but didn't quite get out. From what I hear it's probably Isildurs sword, the morgul dagger, maybe a couple more. I believe the remainder of the Witchking helms (which were made sitting in china factory) are being finished up and are going to back on the shelves (approx 500-600 of these left).

Kit Rae doesn't own the rights or make anything but his own line (he only has rights to that as well). He was just the PD director at UC and behind most of the ideas and making these happen, because he is just as much a collector/fan as everyone else. He is helping them get the new stuff rolling but is a freelance contractor at this point.

Right now. It takes some time to get stuff going a shipping but 6 month or so I would expect old stuff to back on shelves and at least prototypes in the works on the new stuff.
