"How I Won the War Costume" Help

Hi all! I watched "How I Won the War" last night, and I was wondering what would it take to make a screen accurate John Lennon costume? From my understanding, all the costumes are regular British WWII uniforms with Lee-Enfield rifles. But those are generalities, and is it possible anyone can lead me some where more specific?
(I already do know what glasses John Lennon wears: NHS422CJ's....which are crazy expensive now!

If you check some WW2 reenactors website there are a ton of vendors that sell all the British WW 2 you can ever hope to find. You can also go to any large book store and check out some of the WW 2 history magazine for the same also. Hope this helps.
