Well when I first started in USCM costuming I was OD all the way.

Seven years later now... I've warmed up to Brown Bess.

I like the OD versions better. I don't hate BB or anything, but the green just appeals to me asthetic sense of military weaponry more than brown does.

It's 100% personal perception and preference - Since all of the original rifles were painted Brown Bess, it's up to you to decide what colour you think they look like when filmed going by your TV setup and your eyesight!

When my Pulse Rifle is finished (real Remington, real Thompson and real SPAS parts) it will only be getting the right stuff: Bess Brown, of course.
