Ok, not so wild.
I have had no luck finding a decent Horga'hn that was not a
million dollars. So I thought i would give it a shot myself.
Now I have not sculpted anything since high school, and that
was more years then I care to admit. But here is my build.
First i found a great shot of a horga'hn. I used the one from the
Christie's auction from "Captains Holiday". I loaded it into photoshop
cropped the image to the top and bottom of the horga'hn.
Then increased the hight to 12" (the size of the prop).
After that I overlaid a grid onto the image. That way i get
a really good idea of the size of everything. I cut it in half and
printed each half on a different page (12" images don't fit onto
8.5x11 paper). Then taped the two halves together and cut out
the image. This gave me a full size 2-D horga'hn to start the
sculpt with.
After all the image stuff was out of the way i could start sculpting.
I started with the bottom half (legs/arms/base). This is what I have so far.
You can see my cutout next to the started sculpt. As you can see
I am no Michael Angelo, bit it is a start. I recommend not using more
then one color clay it throws your eyes off on the sculpt. The arms are
a bit large, but I can put the dremel to them later.
Next is the bottom of the base. I will post more when I get that done.
