hey guys this is my first post so i am not sure if it is in the correct forum but here goes.
ever since i was a little boy iv always wanted a terminator arm so iv just started to build it. its mainly going to be built from steel.
this part is the wrist ball joint, the pipe came from an axial stand, the ball was a curtain rail hook and the brass was some plumbing fittings.

I've always wanted to scratch build a terminator arm too. Can't wait to see your approach.

This is very cool. I'm hooked. That you are making it out of everyday parts makes it even more amazing. Keep up the good work.

great start!

what tools are you using? imjust asking that obvious question cause i wanted to know if i would be able to work metalls too.
how exactly did you carve in the rings. so nice and clean! =)

thank you all for the interest

@ clothar; yes the arm will be movable (cable operated)

@ dasadam; to name a few tool of the top of my head, im using so far are; vice, needle files, regular files and the sizes in between, hacksaw and junior hacksaw, sand papers of all grades down to 1200 grit, digital and normal vernier calipers, steel rules 6-12", a good drill bit set and 18v makita , small set square, engineers dividers, fine tip maker pen and scribe, mig welder. what im doing to keep the cost is use steel i find, so to derust it i ill use electrolysis. i very carefully used a junior hacksaw to cut the groves. in the future i will need to use a lathe which a friend has but i was thinking of buying one...

@ Conqueror_Worm; the brass is just super glued in place for now until all the parts are completed, then all parts will be cleaned and permanently fixed ie soldered or welded, them all parts electro nickel plated, then weathered.

latest update
i decided to go back to the drawing board. the wrist turned out to big. i have ordered some more materials and when they come i can start again...
thats what i get for rushing into it :p
