We were driving around Phoenix today with a friend from out of town, looking for something to do. We just happened upon a sign for the Hollywood Costume exhibit at the Phoenix Art Museum and we stopped by to check it out!

Phoenix Art Museum - Exhibition Exhibitions

Tickets are $20 and you can't take photos... but the exhibit is REALLY well laid out with a lot of cool tech to supplement the costumes.

Some of the highlights were:

  • Fight Club costumes - AJRand, I am looking at you!
  • Dark Knight Rises
  • Indiana Jone
  • Dark Vader (with stunt fighting helmet)
  • Frankenstein
  • Taxi Driver
  • Did I mention Fight Club?!?

The show is going on through July 6, so if you get a chance, it is well worth the money!

I have been a few times it is awesome. I took a lot of pictures too I had posted them in the Fight Club thread!! There should be two sets of pics.

Damn, was just in Phoenix a week ago, wish I had know about this! :)

If you are still there and have any interest in music, check out the Musical Instrument Museum as well, that's an amazing place...

How did you get away with taking pics? They were like Nazis when we were there.

I believe this is the exact same exhibit that I saw in Richmond, VA at the fine arts museum back in February. There were no photos allowed but it was the exact same wardrobe pieces my favs being Daniel day Lewis's wardrobe from Gangs of New York, neo's outfit from the first Matrix and Di Niro's suit from Casino used for the opening scene with the car explosion. It was amazing and I really enjoyed. Thanks for sharing!

Great exhibit .
we don't get anything like this in UK

This exact exhibit was at the V&A (Victoria and Albert Museum) in London before it came to Phoenix.

Closed Exhibition – Hollywood Costume - Victoria and Albert Museum

It actually looked like it had quite a few more pieces even.

I made a special trip out to Phoenix to see it for myself just yesterday.

INCREDIBLE!

Got a few spy pics myself :ninja

Seeing the Indy ROTLA costume and Vader was also a real treat!

Cant believe that. There's several of us in the group of friends and none of us knew about this one thing with the UK they don't advertise stuff

We would have never known if we literally hadn't stumbled across it while driving around in Phoenix, looking for something interesting to do.

Here is some spy cam footage from the exhibit of the Indiana Jones costume. It's not the greatest quality. (Sorry for the shaky cam) Definitely get down there to see it in person if you can make the trip! The exhibit closes July 6th.
