Just realized that it's the long weekend this weekend (don't you love when those sneak up on you?
) so I'm pretty sure I'll be working on my own. :lol
I'll be working on him off and on all three days though. If someone wants to drop by let me know!

So I had the pleasure of Andrews company on Sunday and what a beautiful day for it! I started by moving Han into the sun so that the current coat of glue would dry a bit quicker.
As you can see by the pics we're VERY close. I've started texturing now but my biggest problem is in the air bubbles, I'm trying to keep them to a minimum. I've even started to experiment with paints on his face. I'm going to go with a Krylon chrome and a black acrylic wash for Han himself. The panels will be Dupli-Coat stainless steel for that heavy industrial look. Just need to find a colour for the box now.
Andrew and I spent most of the afternoon on my back deck touching up the panels. Then it was into the garage for a coat of primer.
We even had some time for Andrew to have a little prop show and tell as he brought some goodies for me to see. We were also able to work on one of his WIP blasters which was good.
Today I've been refining the panels with some 400 grit and spot putty. Next big step will be working out some "good enough" greeblies for the show and installing the electronics on the hero panel.

I want to see the blasters being worked on. I can't wait to get back so we can start on some other things... I need my WIP darn it!

Another sanding tonight and then they're ready for final paint. Then I get to make up some temporary hardware greeblies until I find more accurate ones.

Finished painting the panels today and cut metal for the backing to be added tomorrow. Also did my final pre-paint touch ups to the box and cut backer boards for the panels.
Tomorrow Andrew (and schedule permitting perhaps Neil) is dropping by. We're going to paint Han and finish the panels. Then she's done! I'll post some build pics but the grand reveal will be at the prop party on June 2nd.
Despite how much easier it would have been to get panels cnc'd, get the han cast with full carbonite, etc. I'm pretty proud that this bad boy is built the old fashioned way, entirely through sweat and love!
