Hey everyone,

I've been after this piece for a while now and still haven't been able to locate a good version of the piece from the show. I tried two different eBay sellers and received on different accounts that their making of the piece is discontinued (anyone know why, is NBC clamping down????). While I'm awaiting a refund on the last transaction I was hoping one of the talented members of RPF could point me in the right direction of getting the best possible version of this piece.

If you're looking for a quality piece then I would suggest commissioning a good smith to make a replica for you. Rick Barrett is one of the best Japanese style smiths in the US and he also does fantasy pieces, something most other smiths in the Japanese style don't usually do, so he would have no problem making an outstanding replica for you. It will be more expensive than a production sword, but will be in a completely different category as far as quality and investment are concerned.

Uniquities is about $200 shipped to the US.....before I hit order is that the best deal for a quality Hiro replica?

That looks exactly like the one I paid $80 for off of ebay. I'm very happy with it. I know nothing about how worthy it is as a sword, but it's a great display piece.
