Hero Mark VII Tricorder with a working display

Well I finally finished another prop for my collection. I have been working on this off and on for over a year. I started this with one of my old fiberglass Tricorders, and added a 1.5 inch mp4 player watch, but wanted all the other lights as well. The project was on hold for quite awhile. A few weeks ago I got a set of blinkies for it. I then decided to use one of my new VII bodies for the project, and damaged the watch attempting to remove it from the old body. I picked up a new watch with a 1.8 inch screen, and installed it in the body with the blinkies. I also created some graphics, and modified a few graphic files I found online for the display.

Here is a video of this Tricorder. :)

Holy crap Myron!!! I remember you were talking about this awhile ago on the TPZ, this has to one of coolest trek props I've seen, you remain the master of tricorder!

If you ever decide to sell it, please keep me in mind. That looks and sounds fantastic! :thumbsup

That is a great looking piece. Out of interest, how do you work the graphics on the watch.

sheesh dude, that's just plain nuts. Unbelievably cool. Awesome work. The working screen really puts it over the edge. Man, I don't know what to say. That's just too darn cool.

I don't think I've seen a cooler prop. Ever.

EVER.

This is a red letter day friends. THIS, is Star Trek, the way it should be.

I am simply amazed, and awed by this prop.

I've seen a lot of tricorders. When I got a mp4 player I knew prop making was about to change. I knew this would happen eventually, but I didn't think it would be executed so perfectly.

Very Nice item (y)thumbsup:thumbsup

Thanks Guys. I had a lot of fun with this project.

The main graphics are a video file I created using a stop motion. The rest were video's I found on the net, and I cropped parts of them, and put them in the video to look more tricorder screen friendly.
