Hi

I´ve collected several H&W scopes over the years and found it interesting that I NEVER EVER had two identical scopes! All I owned or currently have show slight variations...

Below you´ll find a comparsion of the ones I have right now.
Hope you´ll find it just as interesting as I do :lol

Top to bottom:

Hensoldt Wetzlar Dialyth 3x
Number: 6188
Windage knob:
Upper part w/o knurling, but numbers 1-10 on top.
Lower part with straight knurling.
Rear adjustment ring: No.

Hensoldt Wetzlar Ziel Dialyth 3x
Number: 13635
Windage knob:
Upper and lower part with straight knurling, no numbers on top.
Rear adjustment ring: Yes.

Hensoldt Wetzlar Dialyth 2 1/2x
Number: -
Windage knob:
REPRO L-base and windage knob, diamond knurling, no numbers.
Rear adjustment ring: Yes (removed).

Hensoldt Wetzlar Ziel Dialyth 3x (near mint!)
Number: 7232
Windage knob:
Upper/ lower part with diamond knurling, no numbers on top.
Rear adjustment ring: Yes (removed).

Hensoldt Wetzlar Ziel Dialyth 3x
Number: 10456
Windage knob:
Upper/ lower part with diamond knurling, no numbers on top.
Rear adjustment ring: Yes.

...and finally my holy grail, an accurate Han ANH blaster scope!!!
Featured on a MR EE with replaced muzzle.

Hensoldt Wetzlar Ziel Dialyth 3x
Number: 9929
Windage knob:
Upper/ lower part with diamond knurling, numbers 1-10 on top.
Rear adjustment ring: No.

I had about 5 more over the years, but sold them to fellow collectors/ prop-builders. But even those had all some slight variations :confused

And now, w/o further ado...H&W galore :cool

Damn, Marcus :eek

I wonder if it can be chalked up to different manufacturing plants or year-to-year design changes?

Sometimes, especially with WWII equipment, you'll see the same item manufactured slightly differently, depending on which plant was allocated to build it.

Good guess! Would be great to know how many factories actually produced this scope!?

Markus

Hey Markus, SURE :) Been to long :) The number on the scope you got me is 10462... :) Keep up the great finds :) Oh, my scope has the diamond knurling top n bottom but no numbers...Curt :)

Thanks.

No threadnapping intended - it´s just the biggest amount of HWs, so i thought it might be the right place to collect the different versions out there - to compare the variants.

Why should Markus have obsessive compulsive disorder?

Because he's one of us!

Thanks.

Hi Markus,

I've been searching high and low for a Hensoldt & Wetzlar Dialyth 3x. As such, I could really use some help finding one.
Please let me know if you can offer any assistance.
Thanks,
Sam

You know when you see museums on tv shows and they show the back rooms where they have drawers of artifacts laid out? I always imagine that must be how Markus' house looks like. He pulls open a drawer with all those scopes in every variation. :lol ;)
