help with painting !! please!

Hi guys,

I'm in the process of painting my Iron Man costume, and I am using dupli colour automotive paint. Problem is I keep getting these shiny spots mixed with dull hazing spots. How do I stop this from happening? Will a clear coat spray even this problem out?

dull is usually a sign of not enough paint and shiny is too much. make sure you spray evenly and go off the side SLIGHTLY overlapping. and be sure to clean your surface with alcohol first.

Lots of shaking on the can too... and be sure to clear out the nozzle. Do the dull, hazey spots look like orange peel?

Yeah kind of an orange peel look. But I tried what bimstone said, and it worked. I kept applying layers and layers, thinking I wasn't spraying evenly. Turns out, I was holding the can too close at times. Wasted alot of paint but its all fixed now. Thanks for your help guys.
