Help with painting over liquid latex/paper mache' mask MOON LORD mask

Making a Moon Lord (from Terraria) mask for my son. Paper mache' with a couple of coats of liquid latex over the top. I just read that you shouldn't spray paint over the top of anything latex. Is that true?

I made the tentacles out of filled plastic newspaper bags and coated with liquid latex to try and give them some strength. Those need paint too.

I don't have access to an airbrush, so is my only option to get some acrylic paint from art store and mix in a little liquid latex? Thanks!

That's the easiest way to go. 50/50 acrylic/latex, give or take.
