Does anyone which font is used on Joel Cairo's theater ticket?

I thought it might be Sedona but I noticed the capital A has a horizontal line attached to the top.The Wolf

if you want, i can post the other caps i took. (of the other paper props)

wow, great minds really do think alike. I just hadn't started hitting the capture button yet...I'd love to see what else you all picked as worthy paper props...

The Maltese Falcon has a lot of great props to make besides the falcon.
The front page that says THURSBY, ARCHER MURDERS LINKED! is a great one. The main article is filler but it has a lot of specifics that are good.
I like all of Cairo's pocket trash. I was starting with the Geary ticket but ran into a problem right away with the main font.
The Greek passport should be tricky. I have a lot of pictures of genuine old Greek passports and a Greek font but typing the words has been a pain to get right.

If anyone is interested I'll see if I still have a BullDurham tobacco label to scan. That's what Spade was rolling early in the film.

I've been looking through my fonts. For whatever reason I thought Roslyn font was the same, the G's are different as are a couple of the other letters. I'm wondering if this wasn't a hand created ticket.

I think it might be the same font that is used on the newspaper for its name: San Francisco Post-Dispatch.

ill post those other caps tonight, they're on a different PC... but i agree with madrobot, this was probably hand done. they were probably created using some kindof typeset from a printers or something. we may never find a correct digital font. i mean, the falcon WAS 1941 after all.

i believe i have one of these vintage envelopes somewhere.... the "stamp" was actually embossed into the paper of the envelope..... ill dig around, if i can find it, ill scan it.

i DID find that envelop! it is ALMOST the same.
theres VERY subtle differences. what i think, is that they had to alter the stamp for the movie, so it didnt violate the law or something. i know the post office was VERY picky bac then about that stuff... hell...they still are!
ill scan it and post the image of the "stamp" in the afternoon.
any ideas how we could get the raised, embossed effect?

the caps are from "PowerDVD".
the stamp is a scan from my mac daddy printer/copier/scanner. :)

Thanks.

I tried the trial version of it last week.
Nice crisp image but crashed constantly.
Couldn't find the single frame advance on the darn thing.

Here's a scan of The Bull Durham label from the bag of tobacco that Spade uses to roll his own.

Great thread! I love this movie!

Anyone have screen caps of Sams office?
Also caps of the phones used in the movie?

Doug

Thanks!
Looking for furniture, pictures on the wall, basically how the set was "dressed". I'd like to take some of it and "dress" my home office using the old furniture, phone, etc. but also add some Spade items.
