help with CLEOPATRA headdress Liz Taylor Version

Hi everyone
I was wanting to make a replica of the Cleopatra Headdress that is being sold by Profiles In History in the Debbie Reynolds Auction.

Unfortunately I have pretty much no skills when it comes to making any props or costumes so I don't know where to start.
I've looked into costuming etc but have no idea really.
Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated.

(I know the easiest thing to do is to give up but I really don't want to)

Please Please any ideas??

Well? I can tell you...This is a MAMMOTH UNDER TAKING! Have you EVER made a Custom Made Hat? Do you have any experience with "Milinary"? That's basically attaching "Metal Wire" to a piece of "Buchram" so it will hold it's shape.

This Headpiece has to be "Light Weight", and sturdy! Do you have a strong back round in drawing? Because..this "Head Piece" isn't exactly sold in common pattern books. So? You will have to DRAW these patterns yourself. I have lots of references for this Headpiece...if you should need any help?

Thankd for your reply, If you have any references of how the headpiece was made etc I would be so grateful. I have actually hired someone from Weta to make it and have only sent him a few emails so far with various screenshots etc, any more help would be much appreciated
