Help w/ Crash Dummy Costume

Hey!

So in a nut shell I need to make something like the costumes below - just the arms & leg "armor" for a generic sci-fi costume. I have a very limited budget and access to a vacuform table, but would rather not use one.

Thoughts on how to tackle this? Also I really don't want to use eva foam - the finished look should resemble plastic.

If anyone out there with a vaccuform table has a 5' 7" male mannequin and wants to just do some vacuforming of limbs - you would solve my conundrum!

I'm also open to buying some 2nd hand Storm Trooper armor!
