Help - viewing character models from Diablo 3?

Hi all!

I'm wanting to do a costume or two from Diablo 3 and I'm having an arse of a time trying to figure out how to view the character models. I've done enough reading to be able to extract the relevant .mpq files and found a few programs that technically should allow me to view the models, but I can't for the life of me get the darn things to correctly display textures. All the models show up fine, they're just in random colours and it's driving me nuts.

Anyone know of a good way to view the files that will actually work, or know of a program that I can play around with and even add the textures manually? I'm totally new to this but a very fast learner.
