Ok im ready to mold it today. This has bugging me for awhile I don't know if I want to risk moving it from the table and lay it on its back with a milk crate and step stool or bricks or if i want to mold in the way it is? I will be using ultra cal.
I was thinking of keeping it upright on the table and mold each arm seperate then mold the chest.

Hey bud. I got a bit of advice for ya.

I just finished my P2 head undermask and had some trouble with it and i would have done it differently had i known before hand. So i would like to pass this wisdom on to you.

I sculpted my bodysuit using WED CLAY then i clear coated it and sealed the sculpt and before molding i made the dividing wall out of WED clay as well.... BAD IDEA.

If i had thought about it before hand and not rushed it iwoulda had ALOT easier time. Next time around for MY bodysuit suclpt i am going to use sheetmetal. I think its called flashing by contractors, its a thin thin aluminum metal that u can buy in like rolls of probably 10 feet and its only about 10 inch wide. This stuff would be perfect for a dividing wall.

The wed clay is a NO NO becuase when u do the wall it works fine but the process of REMOVING it to do the other half is where it sucks. I couldnt tell where the WED CLAY wall and my WED CLAY sculpt began and ended, The result was i messed up the sculpt bigtime and had to resculpt it.

Use the sheetmetal like so....

I tried doing a search on home depot.com but i couldnt find the metal flashing. It is used for siding a house around windows and awnings i beleive. Contractor use a machine to bend it at right angles and such then cut it to fit.
Its there and it comes in big rolls.

This is what i am gonna do next time on any sculpture.

have you considered doing a Fiberglass mold?

Yes i have but its too messy and I live at home still. I will definalty get the sheet metal next time. The clay wall is almost finished so Im just going to go though with it. For the sheet metal I would assume a shears would work.

Hey guys i use flashing everyday in my line of work. It is thin, available in aluminum, steel, and copper. The aluminum is readily available at Home Depot or Lowes in various thickness located in the building materials department around the gutter or roofing section. Tin snips will cut it just fine.

Also available in tin and galvanized steel. Not sure if the galvanized chemical will react with anything but, might wanna test it first.
