HELP PLEASE - newb painting a resin blaster for the first time

Here's the backstory real quick. I am doing every Han Solo costume version I can for Celebration IV in March. At the last few events I've done as ESB Bespin Han I have carried around a converted Mauser. Too heavy for a full day of strolling around. It tugs on my holster and the leather has started to wear through my pants. So I decided to go resin, at least for long events. I just got my first resin kit in this morning: a ROTJ DL-44.

I need to finish and paint it. I have worked with resin kits once or twice in the past. Smaller things like Cexports droid caller kit. So I know most of what to do as far as finishing. White putty to fill holes. Super glue for tiny holes. Washing to get dust and oil off before priming. Etc.

My question comes to painting. What brands should I use? Anything that stands out as better?

I'd need a semi gloss or satin black for the gun body. Possibly something gloss for the scope. A brown for the grips. Aluminum for the muzzle.

What should I use? Techniques? Anybody with anything to share, please do. Especially if you've painted a Resin Han blaster before and just want to tell me I am way off with my color choices.

Thanks.

I have no experience painting resin blasters :angel , but if I were to guess I'd say...

1. Flat black automotive paint (such as Krylon from the auto section of Walmart)
2. Krylon primer (the brown stuff). Mask and paint the grips brown. Now "mist" the grips from rather further back than regular painting with fast strokes (mmm, kinky) to give the grips a sort of mottled wood look.
3. Alluminum metallic Krylon for the nozzle. Mist with black to taste for weathering.
3. Small flask of silver metallic model paint to dry brush the edges here and there for weathering
4. Small flask of bronze metallic model paint to dry brush other edges as appropriate; scope tip/scope mount beveled washers (hey, I like the Stembridge version, sue me)/grip screw bushing (grip screw is black)

Here is the MGC version to compare:

Hmm...I seem to have misplaced my Stembridge pictures (sigh). Instead, here are some random painted (and very old school ;) ) resin blasters that I found on the street while walking my kill-kennel-saved dog, but shortly before I rescued those nuns from the biker gang.

Awesome. That is exactly what I was looking for. I'll probably have a ANH and ESB kit coming at some point in the next few months.

Tha muzzle is black on the ANH, correct?

Well, on the Hero ANH blaster, it's "mostly" black. A couple different opinions on the actual finish; black, or a dark Parkerized gray.
On the Greedo Killer it's a raw metal flash hider.
But the vast majority of Hero replicas I've seen have a black muzzle.
