Help me find Frank the Bunny's Adidas shoes from Donnnie Darko

I have been researching this forever and feel like I am so close, but not quite there. Sadly, we only see Frank's shoes in a single scene in Donnie Darko (in two shots) and it is very dark.

I feel absolutely confident in the following:

• Frank's shoes are Adidas (as are many in the film)
• They are primarily white leather.
• They have an all-white rubber sole.
• Just above the sole, on the back half of the shoe is a dark stripe that has a wave at the top of it.
• The "Adidas" trademark three stipes are dark in color.

Beyond that, everything is a guess.

The closest semi-match I have been able to find has been the Adidas Brougham Run-DMC and the Adidas Forum.

Adidas Brougham
(Issues: Black strip at bottom of tongue, black on bottom of sole)


Adidas Forum
(Issue: blue on bottom of sole)


I feel ;ike I am SO close, but just not quite there. If I can't find any other options, I will go with the Adidas Forum, but I would REALLY like to hear from anyone who knows a bit more about shoes that might help me nail down those last details so we can once and for all put this issue to rest.

I think you nailed it with the Forum's, but you have a picture of the Forum mids or highs (I was never good with what the hell hi/mid/low means). I think it's the low tops you need

I'm wondering though if round the toe in the film is just worn away or if it's a sorta suede bit that Adidas like to put on their shoes. Just looks kind or rough in that spot

Haha.. I just found that same photo of the 2010 Forum Lo and was freaking out when I saw it. The problem is, I can't find that for sale ANYWHERE.

But... here is what I did just discover. You can build you own, right on Adidas' website!! I can color it exactly like I want!!!

That's actually hilarious, I've been doing that since I replied. I was just coming back to tell you that

Try setting the toe cap to white suede. It makes it sort of off white which I think matches Frank's

Not sure the toe cap is suede. I can see how it would look that way based on the screencaps, but when watching Frank walk, I feel like you can see a sheen on the leather. I think that one spot is just a scuff mark through the top color to the raw leather.

Thanks to Jaina_Organasolo (who picked up one of my Frank masks), it looks like these are Adidas Forum ST shoes, almost identical to the Adidas Forum Lo 2010.

More convinced than ever that these are Frank's shoes. If not, they at least match every point we can actually see in the film.

Again, thanks to Jaina_Organasolo, just picked these up off eBay. It is impossible to say exactly what color the details are on Frank's shoes, but I am pretty happy with the dark blue.

So, for the record, these are Adidas Forum ST (low top) shoes.

Shoes came in today and they are perfect!!! Just need to sand the toes a bit to weather them up. The best part is, Jaina_Organasolo sent a little Donnie plushy along with the shoes which was totally awesome!
