HELP ME FILL A TREK ENGINEER'S TOOL BOX. :D

I am wanting to throw together a Trek TNG/DS9 tool box. I think I have a lead on the case, but I'd love to see what miscellaneous tools people have made or have screen shots of. I will be lathing some from aluminum and hardware building, styrene scratch building, or casting others.

You can never have too many hydro-spanners.

I was thinking of making a tool box for my Trek display. I do not need to replicate an exact prop from DS9 or anything, but a good futuristic, case I can dool up, paint gray, and fill with foam and little obscure trek hand tools.

Any advice?

You might try searching for "Tape Case" on eBay. A lot of the cooler cases on trek were made from those from various makers. :)

If you find any cool ones, type the make and model back here. :D

Many of the cases they used were made by Rubbermaid. The Phaser Lockers you would see on the walls were Rubbermaid Action Packers. Some were tape cases as noted above and even a few were made of make up cases and fishing tackle boxes.

Here's a couple caps of the case the Chief carried. This is the same case only with a few changes.

I found this (and won the action for) on ebay:
"Alpha black hard shell storage case" It holds 30 boxed cassette tapes. I'll take more pix of it when it arrives.

The case in this picture is a panasonic camcorder case. All of the insides were cut out and then foam inserts were made.
