Hey guys.. so I haven't been able to put in the time I wanted to on my helmet. It is slowly coming along.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a sandable putty I could use?

The helmet as you all know is already resined on the outside and has been slushed casted with smooth on 300 inside to about 1 cm thickness.

But there are certain areas I'd like to build up on the outside.. and hope there was a resin/plastic or whatever based product I could spackle on and then sand.

No bondo. I want something like a paste that is either plastic based or other.

Any ideas?

why no bondo? it's pretty much exactly what you describe as your needs.

If you're looking for something that is higher quality, try evercoat. Smells really awful, but goes on VERY smooth, cures quickly, and can be sanded really well. It's very resilient stuff though, you will need to work it if you put on too much.

Evercoat

Also, you will NOT want to go with something that is air dry. You want a catalyst product. Air dry stuff are notorious for shrinkage and poor adhesion. Might work REALLY well on tiny seams on model kits, but if you're trying to add matter to a costume piece or something that will do anything other than sit on a shelf, you want to go with professional grade stuff.
