I'm looking for the stuff like you find in a batting helmet. I can easily find the soft foam pillow stuff, but it seems like this foam is denser.

I always pad up a helmet with a motorcycle helmet liner. It's made for your head, and you can get new ones for $20-$30.

I usually go to the used sporting goods store and just buy old helmets... pretty cheap.

If you need more, might try out hockey helmets. Much more expensive, but also much more foam.

The foam in those helmets is called L200 or if you want firmer you can go with L300 you can buy it from most foam stores

Do an ebay search for plastazote, lined my dredd lid with it and its very cheap. Got mine in the UK but there sure to have it stateside too. Do it in many thicknesses and colours.
