***** ******! Brilliant work mate! Can't wait to see the whole thing together. I'll keep this thread in my favorites.
Keep it up mate
Looks really good. Was curious though how will you be removing your core if you don't have a 2 piece mold? Or are you not going to run the silicone with a core?
Thanks!
Once the rubber has cured, I'll be making a 2 piece mother mold for it out of Poly 1512. Once that has cured, I'll remove the mother mold and cut a single seam into the back of the head, then peel the inner mold off the core. It will leave me with only one seam to deal with after casting, and about half that seam will be covered by hair.
Layer 3 is done!
Ah gottcha, I was thinking that was resin not rubber for some reason. I have only ever known silicone to be run in glass molds (no need for a inner and mother mold) with a seam line. That's how most of the big dogs seem to do it anyway.
Look forward to seeing a casting.
remember your registration keys for the mother mold to mate with the inner mold correctly
Hard to see in that shot. Did you not put registration keys in the mold rubber? It may have a tendency to want to shift in the jacket if there are no keys.
