HCG ALIENS HERO M41A PULSE RIFLE - Modification Thread

I know a guy in Zebulon that has his own machine shop behind his house. The guys has some nice stuff including a 3-axis CNC. He could re-profile the barrels easily.

I don't think we can use the pistol version. It has the charging handle on top of the receiver and the barrel is not smooth.

If anyone else is considering replacing the Thompson with a real TM1? We need to work together and possibly get a group buy going. That could reduce the cost of the TM1s.

Why settle for used when you can get brand new...

Good price!!

I didn't notice the pistol has charging handle on top. It also has a slightly different receiver above the magwell. Looks like the TM1 is the best bet.

It will be quite a while before i can tackle this project. More paperwork than i think i want to mess with too.

I am interested in this. Can this gun be had in CA?

Highly doubtful. I am pretty sure that would be classified as an assault rifle. After receiving my HCG PR, I can see how neat it would be to have a PR made out of real parts. I am going to go the parts set route. I don't care if it fires or not.

No. It needs to be an off list receiver, mag with less than ten rounds and a non readily removable magazine (IE you need to use a tool to remove the mag.) There is a minimum length also. Its the non removable mag that has me stumped right now.

This guy says his friend in CA has one:

The UK Prop Store list guns such as stunt Thompsons from the Pacific TV series as unable to sell to UK residents (due to our replica gun laws), yet there's no problems buying the PR from them:

Thompson:
Prop Store - Ultimate Movie Collectables
Pulse Rifle:
Prop Store - Ultimate Movie Collectables

Steve at this point I believe the discussion has leaned toward obtaining a real live firing Thompson in California- not a non firing replica.

Whoa! Uhmm... can anyone say 'hijack'? :confused;)

Great information regarding live-fire Pulse Rifles, M1/M1A1's, SBR's, and AOW's to be sure. I'm already a Thompson M1 semi-auto owner, a Remingtom 870 owner, and have the Franchi SPAS 12 parts I need to do a complete live build. I've been looking into a live-fire Pulse Rifle myself over the past couple years, know all about the proper BATF tax stamps required, but just haven't taken that step yet -- been waiting on aluminum shrouds. ;)

Now getting back on topic...

NICE work Art! I've seen your attention to detail on your costumes and gear in the past and I would have expected no less on this project. Looking mighty fine. There is just something about having a pulse rifle that looks properly 'broken in' and 'veteran'.

I shall continue to follow this thread with great interest. Keep up the good work!

Yes i believe Noble on the forum sells them. Think thats his name...there was an interest list not long ago, try searching the Junkyard

Is there a source for an accurate sling to add to the HCG PR?

Yes, that's correct: member noble makes beautiful, screen-accurate PR slings. You can find him here or on the Aliens Legacy Forum. He's been extremely busy at work lately, so he might not respond immediately, but he'll respond. He's very dependable and does top-notch work. :thumbsup
