Event: Metro Comic Con 2010

We went to Megamall for the Metro Comic Con 2010 as (1) Punishers, (2) Hawkman & Hawkgirl and (3) Green Arrow & Black Canary.
Our 2nd DC costume pair - Hawkman & Hawkgirl was our entry in the cosplay competition.
Hawkgirl won as Best DC character. ^_^
I wasn't really expecting it. WE DID NOT SLEEP! PROMISE! :eek :lol
I sew the tights and my top. It was my first time to really sew. yay! I also sew our boot covers. I also made my own belt. haha!
This was really part of the plan but due to time constraints Robert didn't really have the time to focus on making this costumes. So not until the last minute did we pour in all our strength just to finish these. hhhaaaiiiizzzz.
Robert was suppose to make the wings out of rubber but we ended up buying it. LOL. He asked his nephew to run to Divisoria very early in the morning just to buy those wings. He had a hard time doing my helmet. he had one made but i didn't really liked it so I asked him to do it again. He struggled with the helm shape so I had to tell him how I wanted it to be because he just couldn't figure it out. So 11am in the morning, without sleep we are still spray-painting. hahaha. We left home by 12nn for the event. As you will see we have no weapons on hand because we had no time to do it anymore.
Robert was suppose to make an armor type of suit like the Hawkman that was featured in Smallville. Again due to lack of time, we ditched the idea and he just accepted the fact that he will have to go naked. bwahahahaha!
It was fun because its the first time these costumes had been made, and since it's DC's 75th anniversary celebration, people really recognized the characters. During the catwalk, I was actually worried because I have nothing to do because I am not even holding anything at all.
So it was a surprise that I was picked to win the Best DC character category. Who would have known that Hawkgirl's first flight will take home a prize?
We still have to do a bit of modification - fix the helmet, make it better, make the weapons and probably the suit for Robert. :angel

It was a cool weekend because it's a double win for me. i also won the Best Movie category the day before, August 21 (saturday) during the Cyber Geek Tech Fair held in SM Pampanga. I was She-Predator Machiko and I won a subwoofer set. lol.
