After visiting Memorabilia today I had a brief chat with Steve, CEO of PE.

A Studio Scale Hawk is to be released later in 2007.

More pics, more news (and some bad news too) over 'there'... ;)

Is this an April fools joke?

No - check out the pics 'over there.'

I also visited the PE stand at Memorabilia and can confirm that the prototype Hawk was on show.

Looks good - well detailed and painted, with effective weathering. :)

The Shadomobile also looked promising.

Very interesting.

I love my 23" Eagle and would love to have a matching Hawk to display next to it (or above it or under it).

I am, however, disappointed that they will not be producting a 12" die-cast version of the Hawk. I have a display for my 6 die-cast Eagle variants that has a 7th spot in anticipation of a Hawk. I cannot imagine why they would not do one of those.

IN teresting... but at the same time disappointing, since as has been noted, there's no 12" scale one. :(

Also the 23" PE Eagle was basically identical to the "Replicas Unlimited" kit, and had the huge flaw of being out of proportion... the passenger module is a whopping inch too long.

So we'll have to see if this new Hawk is worth the money, or if you're better off with one of the large resin garage kits.

Eagerly interested in more details about that Commlock and Laser prop set tho...will these have lights? ;)

Always liked the Hawk; thought it was a cool design, one which seemed to be a logical extension of the Eagle design. Also liked the decision to change the look prior to filming and paint the orange markings on it; even if it did make appear to be an Air Force target drone .

Strangely enough, I saw a Space 1999 Annual on the weekend that had a shot of the underside of the Hawk and also a small picture of the miniature before the orange markings had been applied.
