Hasbro Black Series Rogue One Stormtrooper Helmet

My lame walmart finally got the helmets in stock. They also got a giant cardboard U-wing hanging from ceiling! Whoever put it together put the engines on backwards! LOL! It gives it a Republic gunship flavor. ;-)

I know the voice changer( which really dosent change your voice jus makes it louder....well thats the theory.) is not that great, but anyone really using it or wearing it? I really like the helmet. I said i wasnt going to wear it but.. Just had to.lol not made for seeing out of thats for sure!

Yeah, the notion that they would be "mic tips" is not from inside the Star Wars universe but from a (now debunked) theory about the real-world part.

The original part may look like a microphone but it is most likely an insert for a water faucet, maybe even acquired from the same hardware store as the drawer tracks used on the "rifles" that people sometimes still refer to as "windshield wipers" ...

It's a Scandanavian-made aerator for the connector hose to a compact dishwasher. Exact make unknown, but that's the closest match that's been made. I helped my parents build our house from an early age, so I was already fiddling with plumbing fixtures before I ever got into costuming. I recognized them as aerators the first time I actually saw a close-up shot of the helmet. Regardless, I knew they were part of the air system because that's where the TIE Pilot hoses connect.

the other thing is had the speaker been up front or coming out the aerators there would most certainly be feedback out the speaker.

Means you just have to take extra care with both mic and speaker -- positioning and shielding.

I tried everything. My 24" grape isn't fitting it lol

I have 23" how do you think that would fit?

Itll probably be a tight fit. I thought I was the bands that were restricting so I took those off and it's the bucket itself. Guess I wasn't meant to be a stormtrooper lol

As someone with a 60cm skull, that's depressing. I might just cancel my Amazon order now, since it was intended for Christmas, and with this information I'd rather wait and buy it in person rather than wind up with something unreturnable in a couple months.

Several people in the 501st sell replacement mic tips with speakers in them. It appears to be pretty common to have the speakers in the front.

I don't know if they have many issues with feedback or not.

Well.. I did once in a hardware store over here find a faucet aerator with an insert that resembled the real part a great deal.

I'm glad and sad you posted this. Cancelled my order...no way my 26" melon will fit. Ah well..

For those who pre-ordered from Walmart.ca, check your order. They just cancelled just because their stock wasn't due to arrive in a timely manner. I reordered.
You would think that they would ask before cancelling your order, but obviously not.

..." only at walmart...." :facepalm

Modification ideas... You'd need to change the visors and fill in the details on the decals. But the sculpt of the Black Series isn't that far off the design off the ones from Star Wars Battlefront. Though be the Black Series more symmetrical.

In a way I've just given you an excuse to buy 3-4 of these helmets.

- Normal Rouge One Stormtrooper
- Battle worn Rouge One Stormtrooper
- Magma Trooper
- Shock Trooper

Hell I can give you 2 more excuses to buy multiple more.

- Battle Damaged Magma Trooper
- Battle Damaged Shock Trooper

Quick everyone buy 6 Helmets! :lol

Yeah Ive been thinking about dirtying it up so it looks like a long lost found item. Dunno like the pristine white look as well let ke it just came from the Death Star

I've seen a few reviews on YouTube, where the voice changer actually seems to work to some degree. maybe some are faulty?

The voice changer does work but your mouth has to be literally on top of it. There's a YouTube video where a guy puts a small section of pvc pipe on the mic itself. It functions much better but not by any means a good box system. This bucket will take very few cheap details to make it much more accurate. As mentioned, filling in the gaps. Real mesh at the mouthpiece, and of course filling in the battery cover. I really don't care as I'm gonna wear it around the house to bug the **** out of my wife. I pretend I can't hear her.

Can one or more of those of you who already have one of these in hand confirm what it looks like I'm seeing in the pictures? From all angles but side-on, the side tube indents look evenly spaced. But side-on, it looks like they start getting further apart as you get back toward the earcaps. Not an optical illusion? Going by a good photo of the actual prop helmet...

...it looks like they're evenly spaced all the way back. Is this something the obsessive in me is going to have to fix, along with the sharpness of the rest? -_-

That has been bugging me to.... But in the end I came to the conclusion that the stripes look wrong and I want to fill them.
They were decals in ROTS and they were decals in ANH - why should they be physical slits in-between?
The lines were also curved in ANH.

im positive the problem with the voice changer not working is something to do with the connection between the front and back part of the helmet. I've seen so many videos of people demonstrating that the voice changer doesn't do anything, but I've also seen a few where it definitely works!

They begin to get further apart towards the back as well as change angle.

Here is mine, I weathered it to look like a Sandtrooper. Since I'm just gonna display it I didn't worry about filling the seams. This really is a nice helmet for the money.

Dang I like it. What did you use for weathering?
