Has anyone else had an awful Anovos experience?

So they are actually saying that something that was supposedly in the country 3 months ago is still going to take at least another 3 months be for they ship? That is wrong on so many levels.
Actually 4 months is what they quoted in their latest response.

An email I recieved this morning, dated today.

Meeting Expectations: A Letter from ANOVOS To Our Customers
To our customers,

At ANOVOS, we strive to make high quality products and deliver them in a timely manner. Our founding principle was to create costumes and props that would set the “gold standard” in production quality replicas. However, we realize that we have not effectively met the delivery expectations of our customers, and we would like to sincerely apologize for any frustration this may have caused.

Our goal is always to improve all aspects of our company, and we are aware of the delays in production, refunds, and in-stock shipments. We, too, consider these delays unacceptable and hear your concerns.

Over the next few days we will be communicating how ANOVOS plans to change in order to serve our customers and community better. It is our hope that these necessary changes in both process and transparency will restore your trust and faith in us as a valued customer.

Thank you for your support and patience.

Joe Salcedo, CEO ANOVOS Productions LLC

Dana Gasser, COO ANOVOS Productions LLC

Now lets see if their actions meet their words. They can say all they want too about making things better but until they actually do it, it is just so much BS.

Screw them! The customers complained SO much that they had no choice but to make a public statement.
Sorry. Too little too late.

Oh...and nothing will change.

Don´t buy from Anovos or EFX direct.Don´t let you bait with the sales.Buy only from a toyseller in your country that has the props in stock.
So you can send it back to him if you have any issues.Anovos has a bad qualitycontrol...I´ve seen so much broken and bad painted helmets from them over the last months.I would never send them my money for a preorder.

Here is an update from today entitled: The Complex Burden of Accuracy
The Complex Burden of Accuracy - ANOVOS Productions LLC

Basically, they are trying to justify why everything takes so long because they want everything to be perfect.

That doesn't really explain why it's going to take them 3 months to ship out 500 Discovery phasers that are sitting in their warehouse right now. Can they only ship out 5 a day or what?

They are just trying to find ANY excuse that might justify their abysm delivery times and not look bad.

The bad thing is there are people who are falling for this crap and ordering more things from them.

Why is this a bad thing? You view that as a negative? How?

There are countless examples of companies that operated contrary to customer expectations, recognized change was needed and took steps to achieve better results. Why would you want them to fail? because that is the prime interpretation of your comment, that you'd prefer people didn't order from them which has the logical conclusion of the company no longer operating. So please tell me how that is more advantageous than a company making improvements and thriving with consumers benefiting from that change.

Here's 270 pages of reasons why right here and that's only from members from a small forum AND only one thread out of a few.
ANOVOS picks up the high-end Star Wars Costuming License!

The number of pages a thread has is meaningless and statistically inconsequential as you can have multiple posts from a single user expressing the same viewpoint through varying verbiage. If you cherry pick through that topic and pull out the top 100 consumer opinions that blast the company and highlight their EVERY flaw, this in no way shape or form constitutes a rationalization that a company and the consumer are better served by that companies closure than by their improvement. At best, it shows a mere fraction, as you earlier alluded to, of their customer base and as we all know, consumers are quicker to voice concerns over a companies failings than they are to express accolades for doing well. I've still not read anything that supports the notion that it's more advantageous for Anovos to become insolvent than to improve and supply the very props this community desires.

A lot of those posts and in others don't discount the quality of the Anovos products, they actually applaud their accuracy and details. But it also details their lack of customer service, lack of delivery for paid items and services, lack of long term and short term planning, lack of being able to outsource from leadership and their delegation. It's all a trickle-down effect that is a basic and simple economics model that should work easily in this hobby/field but clearly it hasn't and they openly have stated this in their recent letters. If it did work they would have been able to meet all orders on time and had a surplus. Under promise and over deliver. Not hard to follow.

I know your question was originally directed to Apollo, but for me personally there are some companies that just need to hand over the reigns to someone else or in this case warrant investigation on a quasi-ponzi scheme. Not sure why this hasn't happened yet, I would have had that started about a year ago already in a former life.

Never said once do I want them to fail, all one has to do is read between the lines.

As I posted earlier Anovos is in serious jeopardy no ifs, ands or buts about it

That last letter is showing HUGE management problems. Read like a text book management 101 class on what not to do.
First, you don't improve shipping by cutting back the number of days and personnel to handle the slow shipping. You don't say you will better international shipping by giving extremely slow shipping times.
Second, they noted they lost key people. You loose key people when you cannot pay them and or your management is so bad they just won't take the bs.
You need to hold onto your key people, they are the ones that make things happen and it cost you more than their original labor cost if you loose them. THAT IS a very bad sign. Which leads to a lack of resources, another very bad sign. Excusing and accepting worse service, not accepting the reality of poor decisions.
That last letter is rough to read. The solutions are larger problems on the horizon.

Well they make up for that when they deploy their “FLASH FUFILLMENT TEAMS”!

Unbelievable what a train wreck this Company has become

Not only can they not run a business, they even fail at BS’ing their Customers!

Apparently, they only ship 2 days a week because they don't have a full-time shipping staff, they are only part-time.

Thank God! I thought it would have been for some stupid reason! (n)
