Okay...so I know you guys call it "Castin Crap," but I really have never gotten anything but good results with it.

Here's something I whipped up this weekend. I'm not so happy with how it looks under the flash, but I love :love how it looks under natural light. To create the grain look, I used an old crafter's trick for fake snow -- sand mixed with acrylic paint.

Lights off:

Very nice work. I personally don't care what its made of, so long as it captures the spirit of the piece. And you, my friend have got it. :D

When I made my first version of the Philosopher’s Stone, I was quite happy with it, until I realized that it was probably a bit too small. Yes, bigger is better, and when you have Dumbledore’s letter to the goblins to accompany it, it becomes even cooler. (The TOP SECRET stamp was custom-made.) The new stone is approximately 3.5″ x2″ and is finished with acrylic paint mixed with sand to simulate the crystal's matrix. I think it looks much closer to the screen-used piece.

With the letter from Dumbledore (the stone looks very dark in this photo):

Fantastic!! I still love my version of the Sorceror's Stone that PropReplicator made, your work would've made him proud I'm sure!

Is there going to be an interest thread for these soon? :)

That is amazing. We have one of your originals and were very happy with that. Your eye for detail is great.
